I am so lucky how I meet people that eventually turn into clients. I have been photographing April’s headshots at salons for a couple years. She is a talented hair stylist at Vaughn Dianne. You can check out her Instagram and definitely call her if you want stellar coloring.
St. Lucia was another destination I never thought I would go to. It seems that places fall in my lap because of clients or friends who want to go which is basically the most lazy way to find places to go. St. Lucia is a lush and gorgeous spot for a wedding or honeymoon. Its rainforests are know for being in first Jurassic Park Movie. We didn’t actually visit the rain forest, but if I would I probably would have been looking over my shoulder for a raptor at all times.
Destination weddings are fun in the sense that we are able to spend a couple days with the guests and the couples. I like to go to the rehearsal dinner so that I can look at where everything is and also usually photograph the night before festivities. This time we were able to do a little tropical engagement session and April ROCKED it with her tight bun and super sleek white dress.
Not everyone can wear the plunging back wedding dress and April totally did. The way she wore her hair made her look like a stylish mermaid.
Why bring a photographer to a destination like a Sandals?? Because they photograph about 50 weddings a week and are definitely not going to look at a their destination any differently. New venues lead me to go out of my comfort zone, get creatively excited, and with tropical destinations geek out. I can’t say for sure that the photographers with your wedding package at a destination like that aren’t going to get great photos, but I can guarantee that we will.
