Wedding Photographer in Maryland

If you’re looking for:

Photos that feel alive, not posed
A photographer who makes people laugh, relax, and enjoy the process.
A calm, organized presence who makes the day feel easy

Then we’ll get along great.

Hi, I’m Wendy.

The calm in your chaos, and the reason even your camera-shy partner ends up having fun.

I’ve seen a lot through my lens: weddings in hurricanes, blizzards, and even a hot-air balloon. I’ve photographed 100th birthday parties, magazine covers, newborns, and more “I do’s” than I can count. And through it all, one thing’s always true: the best photos happen when you enjoy the moment you’re in.

When I was eleven, I spent my allowance money developing film at CVS. I didn’t know it then, but that was my first business expense. Somewhere between high school art classes and a college professor asking me to shoot his wedding, I realized I didn’t just love taking pictures, I loved witnessing people at their most joyful, emotional, and alive moments.

Now, years later, I still get goosebumps before every shoot because no two days (or people) are ever the same.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me photographing for the Children’s Theatre of Annapolis, helping kids experience what it’s like to see their art captured professionally. (It’s one of my favorite ways to give back.)

Meet the Team

Liz

I run Hickok Photography with my wife, Liz, the other half of our dynamic duo, and the reason everything runs smoothly.

Before joining the business, Liz managed million-dollar properties in Baltimore City (which she’ll tell you is sometimes easier than managing me, and she’s probably right haha).

Behind the scenes, she handles emails, contracts, and scheduling for our clients, and when we travel for destination shoots, she’s right there beside me as our second photographer.

We’re a women-owned, LGBTQ business based in Annapolis, Maryland. We believe that love looks different for everyone, and that’s what makes photographing it so special.

Finnegan

Head of Kiss Management and Chief Distraction Officer.

He’s our daily dose of comic relief, moral support, and the reason every editing day includes at least one walk break.

Wendy and Liz are the dynamic duo.

They are personable and warm, and made my partner and I feel so comfortable. For the formal group shots, they provided helpful direction and were able to get such great and unique photos in a short amount of time. Throughout the entire wedding day and evening they were able to capture all the important moments without being pushy or controlling. In fact, many of our guests commented on how impressed they were with the photographers and the way that they blended in so well. Bonus points for including our dog and working so well with her! They have a very quick turnaround time and sent us the finished photos while we were still on our honeymoon!

We value:

Connection first, always.

The best photos don’t come from perfect poses, they come from trust. We help you relax, laugh, and be your full self.

Joy.

Every session should feel good. Whether it’s a wedding or a Tuesday family shoot, we want you to actually enjoy being in front of the camera (even if you swear you’re “awkward”).

Creativity in every form.

No two people or sessions are the same. We bring an artistic eye to every shoot so your photos feel fresh, natural, and completely yours.

Professional without the ego.

We take what we do seriously, but not ourselves. Expect an easygoing experience with high-quality, timeless photos that never feel forced or over-edited.

Everyone belongs here.

Love looks different for everyone, and we love that. Our business is women- and LGBTQ-owned, and built on the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen and celebrated exactly as they are.

Proof over perfection.

Life moves fast. We’re here to slow it down long enough to hold onto the good stuff.

Explore what
we do best:

I still remember the first time I looked at my parents’ wedding album, and how the photos made me feel like I was there, like I could see who they were before I even existed.

That’s what I want my clients to have: proof of who they are, right now.

Whether it’s your wedding day, your newborn curled against your chest, or the team you built from the ground up, it’s all part of your story, and I’d be so honored to capture your memories.
